MION-LANA ALHAJI MAHAMADU ABDULAI DONATES BAGS OF CEMENT TO DAGBON STATE SENIOR HIGH/TECH. SCHOOL:-
Today (Thursday, 09/07/2020) His Royal Highness (HRH), Mion-Lana Alhaji Mahamadu Abdulai paid a royal visit to Dagbon State Senior High/Tech. School in Yendi. The purpose of the visitation is to assess progress of a self-help school walling project initiated by the Headmaster, the Governing Board and the PTA of the school.
During the royal visitation by the Paramount Chief of Mion Traditional Area, the Mion-Lana donated some 100 bags of cement to the school to aid their initiative. This initial donation is in response of a letter of appeal for support from the Headmaster of the school which was brought to the Mion-Lana few weeks ago.
The Mion-Lana (HRH) noted in his remarks that "I have paid you this visit today in response to your earlier letter asking for my widow's mite in your ongoing self-help school walling project. I am happy that your initiative is a good one and yielding results, especially now that Covid-19 pandemic is a challenge to us. Looking at your situation; nearby houses to the open school system becomes easy for students to get out of school and back, and this will be difficult for not only studies but managing even the pandemic. I wish to appeal to philanthropists to come to your aid, hoping that I will personally do more donations sometime later when opportunities avail themselves to me." HRH took this opportunity to advice students to take their academic work seriously.
Headmaster, PTA and Board Chairs, gave short speeches thanking the Mion-Lana (HRH) for this singular gesture.
With HRH were Mion-Kpana Lana, Mion-Sakpale Lana Alhaji Zibs, Mion Naazonima, and some members of his Secretariat.
