YENDI TOWNSHIP ARE SUFFERING WITH WATER SHORTAGE

Please  the good  people  of Ghana the leaders  and the authority  should  quickly  react on this  matter seriously.

The Northern Regional town of Yendi is currently facing an acute water shortage following a fire outbreak at the main water treatment plant two weeks ago.

Residents have been appealing to the authorities to immediately address the problem since its negatively impacting on their lives.

They have been left with no option but to explore other alternatives for getting potable water. Women and children are seen during walking long distances in search of water.

Other residents of Yendi in the past two weeks have been relying on water tankers for water.

spoke to Citi News complained about the charges by the tanker drivers.

They are therefore appealing to the government to urgently come to their aid.

“The dry season is just starting and things are already this way. Then we will be dead by the next rains,” a resident lamented.

“We are calling on the government to please come and assist our work on the plant for us. We are suffering. The president came and cut sod for Yendi water project and up to date, we don’t see anything. Please we seriously need help.”

The president in September cut sod for the Yendi water project but work is yet to start.

Following the onset of the dry season in the Northern Region, residents of Yendi who fear the consequences of not having potable water have appealed to the government to act quickly.

The current situation has, for example, taken a toll on commercial car washing bays forcing them to increase charges for their services..
